Whether you’re an architect, builder or developer, your clients will probably ask you about home automation at some stage. They may not know exactly what they want, but they’re pretty sure they should have it.

From initial consultations to full design and documentation tender packages, we believe that JFK Automation offer the most comprehensive range of home automation design services in the industry.

The Process

An initial 2-hour consultation if offered free of charge, during which we can establish the scope of design services.

We then put together a Home Automation Design Proposal which contains a fixed fee for producing the documentation.

Depending on the extent of the design, we normally ask for 2 – 6 weeks to complete the documentation.

Professional Lighting Design is charged differently and may take longer, so please call us for more information and for current timeframes.

FAQs

What is a smart home design plan?

Smart home design plans help simplify complex systems and provide comprehensive documentation of the scope of work and the level of technology needed to suit your home automation goals. The plan contains precise information about what technology is required and specific installation details for tradespeople or for architectural integration, including data cabling, HVAC, lighting automation, security and audio/video systems, etc. The smart home design documentation can then be shared with architects, builders, lighting designers and electricians.

Why do you need a smart home design plan?

It is important to have thorough documentation of your smart home design so your original plan will remain cohesive despite any possible changes to your trades. If something was to not work out as you had hoped, smart home design plans are a reference to show how it should have been executed.

Is a smart home design dependent on reliable Internet?

Smart homes designs rely on a fast and stable home network to ensure all technologies function at their best. That is why here at JFK Automation, we include in our smart home design plans a fully itemized cable schedule that provides information detailing what cable infrastructure is required to support the smart home automation system, including standard telephone, data and RF cabling.

To combat technology outages once the smart home design is installed, we also provide a Remote System Monitoring package that allows our staff to keep an eye on your systems and fix any problems before you notice them. This package can be integrated into all of our smart home design plans
